Laurel Hill Cemetery is the second oldest garden cemetery in the United Stares,  It is also the only cemetery designated a National Historic Landmark.   It is the burial site of many historic figures such as:

  • Charles Thomson, the secretary of the Continental Congress
  • Thomas McKean, Signer of the Declaration of Independence
  • Thomas Godfrey, Inventor of the mariner's quadrant
